INTRODUCTION:

Being a student of university should be one the most amazing time of students life, so student activities have been rising over the last few years. A good deal of research has already been done into student activities explaining how they are a good way to develop personally and academically,students can find new friends, share familiar interests with other students and staff of university. Also students can find some fun outside the classroom. The students Development and Activities consist of Academic Associations clubs, groups and societies.
There are lots of chances to join to clubs or take a part in activities, which are a good ways to meet people. Students can spend their time out of the university such as many clubs and societies. When students want to join to any club or society programs, there are many benefits for them, for instance: sharing talents or interests with other people and the most importantly, enjoy themselves! If overseas students participate in these programs they can gain a lot of benefits and experience for themselves.
Nowadays student activities are very important in their life so it is considered as a useful resource, that cause to gain an experience.


AIMS:

The purpose of this research is to find out if different nationalities of pre-sessional students have the same priorities for after-class activities, and explains the kinds of activities students on pre-sessional English courses at London Met University do in their free time.

METHOD:

The sample size was 24. These respondents were of different nationality and ages students on prsessional English courses at London Met University.
It was carried out using a questionnaire. First of all my group and I made some questions about the kinds of activities students on pre-sessional English courses at London Met University do at the free time. Afterwards we corrected questionnaire and we made other questionnaire. Then we interviewed to some international students.


Findings

According to the iterview, the majority of international pre-sessional university students said that they went home after class on an average day.
Twenty percent of respondents said that they lived in a flat house with people from different countries.
A large number of international university students cited that they preferred to spend their time with their friends or flat mates from their own countries than spending with foreign people.
Just over half of those surveyed 52% students used conversation club after their class.
Only one in twenty-four students said that they liked drinking with their friends in their free-time and nearly two thirds of the respondents claimed that they preferred chatting or calling with their friends or family.
A very surprising finding was that, after class activities in the UK compared with other countries were not any different. Over half of the pre-sessional students responded that they practiced the same activities that they normally done in their countries and in London as well.
When asked if they did work in the UK, the respondents said that they do not.
Most of the students told that free time activities should be separated from class activities because they wanted to relax.

Discussion

The interview shows difference in the number of activities students on pre-sessional English courses at London Met University do in their free time.
The purpose of the study was investigate whether visiting friends would benefit for pre-sessional students, because they can improve their English and share their experiences.
Twenty percent of students live in a flat with people from different countries. This seems to show that is the London easier than other countries for students to find good quality reasonably priced rented accommodation.
Over 50% of students use the conversation club. This appears to indicate that students want to improve their English and independent learning is an important aim of students.
Only one out of twenty-four of the students interviewed said that, they liked drinking with
their friends. This seems to show that, social programme at the university should give parties and alcohol should be served.
Most of students said that free time activities should be separated from class activities. This might mean the students do not like study in their free time.
